DARCARS Automotive Group Hosts International Women's Day Events to Celebrate Women's Achievements at DARCARS
Amanda Flores, a quadruple amputee recently profiled on NBC's Today Show, will deliver keynote speech
Bethesda, MD – On Friday, March 8, 2019, DARCARS will host two events for its female employees in celebration of women’s achievements and recognition of International Women’s Day. Delivering the keynote speech at both events will be Amanda Flores, a quadruple amputee who was recently profiled on NBC’s Today Show. Amanda developed a friendship with DARCARS President and CEO John Darvish after he saw her story on the news and had DARCARS deliver to her a custom-fitted Toyota minivan that allowed her to drive again.
“At DARCARS, we are committed to providing opportunities for women to help lead this company, whether at corporate headquarters or at the dealerships,” said Darvish. “I am proud to have such amazing women powering this company, and I am thrilled that my friend Amanda Flores, who is an inspiration for us all, could be here to join our team at this great event and deliver the keynote speech.”
The percentage of women employed in the automotive industry is on the increase. DARCARS is proud of the significant and positive impact of female employees working across all departments – sales, service, parts, body shop, accounting, finance, administrative services – and at corporate headquarters. L’Oréal  Staylor, at DARCARS Toyota of Baltimore, will receive a special award as the first female Licensed Maryland State Inspector at DARCARS.
Members of the media are invited to attend both events on Friday, March 8, 2019 in Maryland for photo opportunities, interviews, and more: 10:00 a.m. at DARCARS Ford, 9020 Lanham Severn Road, Lanham; and 2:00 p.m. at DARCARS Nissan, 15911 Indianola Drive, Rockville.
