Combining robust power and performance with luxury comfort, the 2023 Lexus GX is an exceptional midsize SUV. The GX outclasses its competition when it comes to handling. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Lexus GX comes in four trim levels. There's the base model, the GX 460, and the upgraded trim options, including the Premium, Luxury, and Black Line Special Edition. Every GX comes standard with an ultra-durable body-on-frame design, and you'll have your choice of six exterior color options, ranging from bright Eminent White Pearl to inky Black Onyx.
No matter the trim you choose, you'll get a feature-rich vehicle; a power moonroof, heated power-folding outside mirrors, and illuminated running boards are standard on all trim levels. 18-inch alloy wheels come standard on the GX 460 and GX 460 Premium models, while the Luxury trim features 19-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish, and the Black Line Special Edition sports 18-inch alloy wheels with a sleek, gloss black finish.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Lexus GX engine is made to handle the toughest driving conditions. You'll find a beefy 4.6-liter, naturally-aspirated, V-8 engine under the hood that delivers 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm. All that power translates to impressive towing strength — 6,500 pounds of towing capacity. And, despite all its power output capabilities, the Lexus GX engine still comes with a Certified Ultra-Low Emission rating (ULEV II).
Performance
You'll be hard-pressed to find a midsize SUV that can handle the variety of terrain that the 2023 Lexus GX can tackle. Every GX comes standard with full-time four-wheel drive. That means your Lexus will be powering all four wheels all the time. The GX also comes with an available ultra-smart Adaptive Variable Suspension, providing an incredibly smooth ride inside while handling the most rugged terrain outside.
For the truly adventurous type, the Luxury trim comes with an optional Off-Road Package that includes Multi-Terrain Select which allows you to optimize handling and traction when choosing between five different terrain types.
Interior
The 2023 Lexus GX excels at maintaining the most comfortable conditions inside the cabin while dominating harsh terrain and weather outside. Your GX will shelter up to seven occupants from exterior environmental conditions, and the optional three-zone automatic climate control will allow your passengers to create personalized climates for maximum comfort. And if it's added luxury you're looking for, the GX 460 Luxury comes with semi-aniline leather interior trim made of premium-quality leather.
The GX doesn't skimp on the tech either. All trim levels feature loads of interior technology, including a 10.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, a three-month Platinum Plan trial subscription to SiriusXM®, and four USB ports (with two in the front and two in the rear) so all your passengers can stay connected.
Safety Features
Driver and passenger safety is a priority for Lexus. The 2023 Lexus GX is generously cushioned with 10 standard airbags, and every trim level comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+, which includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Intelligent High Beams.
